Release day is just around the corner for me, and I am super excited to see what you all think of the fifth installment of the Fated Fantasies series. I had such fun writing Kerry and Dayton’s story and it will go live on the 13th for those of you waiting for Kindle Unlimited (just in time for the weekend)
Please welcome Alex J Adams to the blog!
Author Bio
Alex is an MM author from the NW of England. She’s married with three grown-up sons and two Tamaskan dogs, her night time companions when she’s writing into the early hours!
She writes gritty, realistic, mainly contemporary romance but always with a happy ever after.
Her tagline? Dark With Heart
An avid reader, she started writing one lunch break, writing her first book in no time at all. From there, her passion grew and The Nava Dance Studios series was born. Her writing style has changed, a darker feel creeping into her work and while she doesn’t profess to be a dark author, she covers some socially dark subjects.
She’d love to move somewhere sunny with a beach view, continuing to write about her perfectly, imperfect men.
Alex’s Quirky Questions
Holly: If you could live anywhere real or imaginary where would it be and why?
ALEX: I would live in the South of France or Scotland. I love them despite them being completely different places. The climate in France is fabulous and if you’ve read One Last Wish, there’s a place called Aberfeldy and Kenmore. I’d live there in a heartbeat.
Holly: What fictional character would you like to spend an evening with, and why?
ALEX: See, now that’s a tough question. I write romance but I’d definitely love to spend some time with Sherlock Holmes, or maybe knitting with Miss Marple! I’m a sucker for a murder/mystery book.
Holly: What are some day jobs that you have had/have? Do they impact your writing, share an example.
ALEX: I’ve had a lot of jobs! One of them as a bra fitter. I’ve seen so many boobs, lol, but that doesn’t really count with what I write. I used to be a childminder, but I suppose I draw inspiration (and names) from the people I work with. Some character traits sneak in too. Hazel from Dance With Me was based on a lady I worked with. Snarky, pushy…..oh, yeah, that was me!
Holly: We know what you like to write, but what do you like to read in your free time, and why?
ALEX: Free time? Not sure what that is! But yes. I was an avid reader before I started writing, reading anything and everything. I read murder/mysteries, both old and new. I do read MM and occasionally will go back to some of my favourite MF reads now and again, just to clear my mind. I love PNR too, especially shifters and vampires. I’m currently writing my own which should see the light of day next year, maybe.
Holly: Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?
ALEX: I do read them, yes, and I’ve got much better at dealing with them. At first, I’d go into a complete meltdown if they were awful, but now I read them and move on. At the end of the day, it’s up to the reader what they think. I know I wrote the book how I wanted to, told my story. You can’t please everybody all of the time. But, on the flip side, it’s so lovely when you see how much readers have adored your book. Makes it worthwhile.
Holly: How do you celebrate a new release?
ALEX: Usually with Chinese food and I’ll sometimes raise a glass!
Judging Duke
Duke
Life is good.
It didn’t used to be.
Shame, prostitution, abuse – you name it, I knew about it.
I finally felt I could move on, get my life back on track.
I had a stable job, a very healthy sex life. Then he sauntered in, large as life, and everything went to the wall.
Old feelings reared their head and I couldn’t forget him, no matter how hard I tried.
I hated him. Loathed him. So why did I want him so badly?
Simon
Life is good.
It didn’t used to be.
Guilt, depression, anxiety – I knew all about it.
I was doing well. A thriving business, bucketloads of cash, and finally, a light at the end of the tunnel.
But a chance meeting and he’s back in my life again, sending everything into a tailspin.
I hated him. Loathed him. So why was that kiss all I could think about?
When Duke and Simon meet again sparks fly. First hate, then lust. Can they finally put the past behind them and move on together? Will Simon ever stop judging Duke for the mistake he made?
Judging Duke is the fourth and final book in the Liverpool Boys series. Enemies to lovers, this is a darker romance with a HEA. Can be read as a standalone.

NEW FROM ME (Holly Oliver)
When a plan for revenge goes wrong, the Array find themselves ill-equipped and underprepared for the monsters on their doorstep.
Kerry, a hedgehog shifter, finds himself facing the demons of his past and is filled with a rage that won’t quit. His loyalty to the Array is put to the test, and an unexpected mate turns his world upside down.
Dayton, a fennec fox shifter, had one job, but from the moment he arrived at Helena’s, he felt forces moving him in another direction. Torn between his duty to the Array and his heart, Dayton attempts to honor both, but at what cost?
Kerry and Dayton is a story featuring magic, shifters, and death. It also mentions the deaths of parents and gruesome monsters, but if all goes well, there will be a happily ever after for the unlikely couple by the time we reach the end.
I hope you enjoyed this week’s episode of Holly’s Quirky Questions.
A huge thank you to Alex.
Next week we have Miski Harris.
