My, oh, my, this month is flying by! I’ve hit some really cool personal goals, and I’m feeling so much better about myself than I was when the year began.

Author Bio
Christie Gordon started writing gay and MM romance books after finding Yaoi fanfiction by accident and falling in love with it. She’s always had stories in her head and always enjoyed writing, so she decided to try her hand at the genre and took up fiction writing classes at a local community college. She published her first MM romance book with eXtasy Books back in 2009. Christie follows her muses wherever they take her, writing a mixture of paranormal, historical and contemporary romances. She enjoys writing about men discovering themselves, overcoming obstacles and finding love in the process, along with a happy ending.
Christie’s day job is in the high-tech industry with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration. She currently lives in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area but has also lived in the Bay Area of California and grew up in Minnesota. If she isn’t writing, she’s watching boys love dramas or creating digital artwork. She’s also a mother of two young-adult sons, whose antics keep her on her toes. Her one-eyed rescue pug is always by her side, snoring the day away.
Christie’s Quirky Questions
Holly: If you could be an animal for a day what would it be and why?
Christie Gordon: I think I’d like to be some sort of bird, only for the flying aspect. It would be cool to fly…
Holly: If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?
Christie Gordon: A great superpower would be to be able to read peoples’ minds. I feel like that would cut down a lot on misunderstandings. Of course, I wouldn’t use it all the time. That would be like eavesdropping!
Holly: Does writing exhaust you or energize you?
Christie Gordon: Most of the time, writing energizes me, especially when I get on a roll. I don’t think I’d be a writer if I found it exhausting.
Holly: What’s your favorite underappreciated novel, yours, or someone else’s.
Christie Gordon: My favorite underappreciated novel that I wrote is probably Find Me in July. Maybe this was too close to my heart, but it’s about two best friends finding love in Northern Minnesota while on a family vacation at their lakeside cabins in 1978. I think I relived some of my childhood while writing it.
Holly: What’s your writing process like?
Christie Gordon: I always start with character sheets. I map out the personalities of characters and find muses (usually attractive male models) that I can refer to for descriptions. Once I have a good understanding of the main characters, I just start writing. I’m a panster and any time I’ve tried to plot anything at all, I get writer’s block. I have to let it flow. That being said, I set aside two hours of writing time a day during the week (I have a day job, too) and 4 hours per day on the weekend. I’m pretty routined when I’m writing. If I have to take time off while in the middle of a book, it’s hard for me to pick up where I left off.
Holly: What’s your most annoying habit?
Christie Gordon: Probably that I’m so routined, LOL. I don’t do well with last minute plans popping up and if I’m on vacation while in the middle of a book, I still stick to my writing schedule. Thankfully, my friends understand when I have to sit by myself and write.
Holly: What’s on top of your fridge?
Christie Gordon: Nothing. I’m also a neat freak.
Holly: What’s your favorite thing to do to relax?
Christie Gordon: Probably watch boys love dramas or read other MM romance books.
Holly: Explain your book terribly in a few words. (For example two men meet and hate each other, until they don’t)
Christie Gordon: Two men flounder around until they figure out how to date each other.
Holly: Where did your inspiration come from for your MCs?
Christie Gordon: Truthfully? I have no idea. The characters in this book were thought up on a whim in the last two books of the Mesa Boys series. Brandon is the main character’s brother in Catching His Fire and Devin works at a bakery that Jaime and Nate own from Catching His Name.

As we came up to the door to my dorm room, I slipped my key card out of my wallet, then unlocked the door.
Brandon tugged on my elbow, turning me to face him. “Hey, maybe we should call it a night and get back together tomorrow? What do you think?” With his lips bowing down, his gaze searched my face.
“What? Why?” My chest squeezed. Did I do something wrong? But everything had felt so right.
With a deep inhale, he hung his head, then planted his hands on his hips. “I don’t want to push this.” As his gaze met mine, his forehead wrinkled. “This is not a hookup. Not to me anyways.”
I widened my eyes. “It’s not a hookup to me, either.” I scanned the empty hallway. What the hell was going on? “I don’t hook up.” I huffed a chuckle. “Hell, I don’t do anything.”
Rushing forward, he pinned me against the door, his forearms on either side of my head, his face close, our chests touching. “I want to do things to you, Devin. I don’t know that I can stop myself if I go in there. Do you get what I’m saying?” He focused on my mouth, swiping his tongue around his lips.
As my breath quickened and heat flooded my groin, I said, “I’m pretty sure I want you to do things to me.” I thrust my hips, skimming my hardening shaft against his. A pulse of pleasure shook through me. I definitely wanted this.
