December is officially here! (In NZ it’s the 1st). I hope whatever you have planned for this month makes you smile, and you get to spend time with people who love you.

I’m counting the days until I can be on holiday. I’m looking forward to shutting down my computer and taking some much-needed downtime.

Secrets of the Soul is on track to be uploaded to Amazon in the next few days, and then I will be able to breathe a sigh of relief.

This month we have some wonderful authors to get to know better and we kick things off this week with Sam E Kraemer and Felicity Snow.

Author Bio

I grew up in the rural Midwest before moving to the East Coast with a dashing young man who swept me off my feet. We’ve now settled in the desert Southwest where I write M/M contemporary romance. I also write paranormal M/M romance under “Sam E. Kraemer writing as L.A. Kaye.” I’m a firm believer that love is love, regardless of how it presents itself, and I’m proud to be a staunch ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. I have a loving, supportive family, and I feel blessed by the universe and thankful every day for all I have been given. In my heart and soul, I believe I hit the cosmic jackpot. Cheers!

Sam’s Quirky Questions

Holly: If you could live anywhere real or imaginary where would it be and why?

Sam: Real – I live in Las Vegas. We don’t have snow. We have a little rain, and the sun shines more than it doesn’t. Imaginary – In a magical world where everyone loves and respects everyone regardless of differences.

Holly: What fictional character would you like to spend an evening with, and why?

Sam: In my book world, I’d love to spend an evening with Chef Rafe because he could make me a wonderful meal and then kill my enemies with the flick of a throwing knife before dessert is served.

Holly: What are some day jobs that you have had/have? Do they impact your writing, share an example.

Sam: My memory isn’t the greatest, but I’ve been a busser at a restaurant, a clerk in a grocery store, a stable hand, and a clerk at a police station, all before I was 20! Later careers included working as a secretary, a paralegal, and an intellectual property specialist. I’ve also been a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. Right now, I’m a writer and an author, and I’ve never been happier. All of my careers have played into my writing.

Holly: We know what you like to write, but what do you like to read in your free time, and why?

Sam: I’ve recently started writing PNR/UF under a different penname, and I love reading it. There are so many different takes on the genre, and I enjoy how others create their worlds. It’s no an easy thing to do!

Holly: What was the hardest part of writing this book?

Sam: Dealing with the different cases Jeff had in his family court. We all know life isn’t easy, and while I wanted to try to give a sense of reality to the Judge’s profession, I didn’t want to make it too depressing. We generally read for pleasure and escape. I wanted it to be a story that took the reader from the troubles of life. I hope I succeeded.

Holly: Tell us one thing about your MCs that we don’t learn from the book?

Sam: Every MC is based on someone I’ve met in my life. Some are family, some are friends, and some are just happy coincidences, but I love meeting new people. They feed my muse!

Holly: Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?

Sam: I don’t read my reviews. My BFF and PA @Arden O’Keefe warned me away from it when we started working together. He reads them and shows me the good ones. If someone tags me for leaving a review, I look at it, and freak out, but Arden reminds me the reviews are for the readers. It doesn’t make it any easier, but I try not to dwell.

Holly: How do you celebrate a new release?

Sam: I have a supportive spouse, and usually when I have a new release, he takes me out for a special dinner. I appreciate it more than I think he even realizes.

What The Heart Wants

Blurb:

Judge Jefferson Hart is hoping for a relaxed summer off while babysitting his grandson. Instead, a captivating young man reads him the riot act about leaving the boy in incapable hands. While Jeff isn’t used to anyone chastising him, the way the man goes about it ignites a dormant longing inside him.

Iggy Sampson has a to-do list a mile long: Take the law school admission test. Find an acceptable school that will give him a scholarship to avoid a crippling amount of student loan debt. Get over the guy who gave him his first kiss and then humiliated him at the tender age of fifteen.

Shrieks outside his temporary home aren’t on that list, but how can he not help the boy cradling his arm? What he hadn’t counted on was the boy’s attractive grandfather. Fireworks have nothing on the crackling between them.

Their attraction grows more every day, bridging the age gap and the fifty yards separating them. But can they give in to their desires without losing their loved ones in the process?

What the Heart Wants is a contemporary age-gap MM romance featuring a hard-working student who’s not afraid to speak his mind, a hot judge who isn’t looking for a new love, and an adorable six-year-old who will melt your heart.

This stand-alone novel is approximately 89,000 words in length and ends with a happily-ever-after.

Author Bio

I’m a mom, wife, and a lover of both reading and writing mm romance. I live in sunny Florida with my family and our Maltese. I love sunshine and rainy days, curling up with a blanket and a good book, or watching my favorite tv shows, aka Supernatural. I love coffee and hot chocolate and believe that Starbucks is selfcare 🙂 I love to shop, craft, decorate, and just create in general, which is why writing is such a passion.

Felicity’s Quirky Questions

Holly: If you were stuck on a desert island all alone with only three things, what would they be?

Felicity: My phone, assuming it had an endless supply of battery, my headphones, for listening to audiobooks, although I guess if I’m all alone it doesn’t matter if I listen to smut without headphones, lol, and maybe a pillow??

Holly: If you could change your name to anything what would it be and why?

Felicity: Hmm, considering Felicity is my pen name and I actually like my real name I’m not sure 🙂 I really like the name Gwen, so maybe that? It easier to spell, lol

Holly: Do you have any morning rituals? What are they?

Felicity: I have three young kids, so my morning ritual consists of convincing them to get dressed so we can get to school on time 🙂

Holly: Tell me something from your bucket list.

Felicity: Ooooh, I really want to travel to all the places!! I have only ever been out of the US one time on a cruise! It was to the Bahamas and it was so beautiful. I would love to see more of the world.

Holly: What secondary character would you like to explore more? Tell me about them.

Felicity: I’m not sure most people will remember him, but there was a character in Chasing You who showed up very briefly. His name was Avery, and I still want to write his story. He was just so sweet.

Holly: Who has been your favorite character to write and why?

Felicity: This is tough for me because I love all of my characters for different reasons. I think I’m going to have to go with Wesley from Come Fly With Me. He is sensitive and sweet, but sassy and sarcastic too, and I just love him to pieces. He’s honestly a lot like me. And he is my demisexual character, which I also identify with 🙂

Holly: What do you do if you get a brilliant idea at a bad time?

Felicity: If my phone is nearby I jot it down, if not, like if I’m I the shower, I probably forget it. Happens all the time. I think of a line that sounds great and then I can’t remember it twenty seconds later!

Holly: How long have you been writing?

Felicity: I first started writing in junior high! So ….. years 🙂 I wrote some in highschool too and then took a long break before starting back up again with fanfiction just a couple of years ago.

Until You

Paul

It feels like I’ve been drowning for five years, barely keeping my head above the water. I lost everything that mattered to me. I never expected to feel anything again, to want anything again, or anyone. Then one night I find a young man on the streets and the next thing I know I’m offering to let him stay in my spare room. I don’t do things like this, but I feel protective of him from the moment I see him. He’s acting all tough but I can tell he’s scared and searching for a place to belong. And maybe, maybe I need someone to save.

But as time goes on, and the more we’re together, I find myself caring for him more than I should. The intensity to which I’m drawn to him is terrifying, because he’s only nineteen, and I’ve never felt this way about another guy before. What does that say about me? I can’t develop feelings for him. He’s too young, and far too good for me. So full of life and light. And he has no idea what I’ve done, the kind of person I am; and if he ever found out, he would hate me.

Charlie

I’ve spent my whole life hearing that it’s wrong to be me. To love what I love, to love who I love, and it’s made me make some difficult choices. I’ve had to do things I’m not so proud of, things that still keep me up at night. Being on the streets was my choice, and I would do it all again to get away from my abusive parents. When the sexy older man shows up and rescues me from my tormentors I am stunned. No one has ever cared for me before, saved me before. Still, I am hesitant to let him do more for me, or stay at his home. Surely he wants something in return, right? No one ever does something for nothing.

But the more time we spend together the more I realize he’s not like everyone else in my life. He isn’t cruel, or manipulative, or harsh. He isn’t using me and he doesn’t want anything but for me to be exactly who I am, to be safe and happy. Can this be real? Can he be real? And could I be falling for him? But I’m a street kid, and 27 years his junior. How could he ever want someone like me?
